For the fourth consecutive year, the school's baseball program has proven that its talent extends far beyond the diamond. The team was once again recognized nationally by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) with the prestigious Team Academic Excellence Award for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The national honor is awarded to high school programs across the country that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to balancing athletics and academics. For the local squad, however, it’s not just a pleasant surprise—it's the baseline.
"This award is something that we’ve really come to expect, and it's a standard that we maintain," said Head Coach Castaneda, who expressed immense pride in the team's ongoing streak. "Not only do we play well on the baseball field, but we also make sure that we have good grades in the classroom."
As the program continues to build on its traditions, this latest recognition serves as a strong reminder that the grind doesn't stop when the final inning ends—it carries right over into third-period study hall.
